dont know the exact number for diaqueen,,, i know the norm for synthetics is about 5 yrs, and Diaqueen is not a synthetic.

i tried calling Mitsu Tech Services in Cali but they are close today,, if someone wants to take the initiative and call them first thing monday and ask for this answer ,, if no one steps up i will call when i get a chance during the week.

the reason shelf life clock starts tiking is beacuse now you dont have that seal to protect from the outside enviroments that have a play in harming oil,,, for example water/humidity

like every other chemical that sells out there they have a shelf life,,, it seems you dont know what shelf life is,,,

- Shelf life is the date when an article is no longer reccomended to be used because there are certain chemical structures that are only predicted to last for so long.

It doesnt need to be sitting for 10 years, because it doesnt take that long for it to absorb humidity and other enviromnt elemnts when they are open just make sure its well sealed and not open to elements,, if sythetics are mostly a 5yr i could imagine non syn are less much less

you are not listeting,,, its not that they will leave their oils outside, its not that my kid will drop water or finger paint because i left the dam thing open.

Its simply that industry wise its a comon practice for any chemical to have a shelf life date,,, and i think you understand that gear lube is a chemical right !!

1. You will not save LOTS of money using Amsoil in the rear diff and TC. Diaqueen is like 35 a can.
2. Yup it may have a shelf life but no one will ever reach that before needing more and if they do they aren't being very nice to their EVO PERIOD. The stuff isn't going to just start breaking down after opening the can. Common now

I usually get a year out of a can or so. 120k+ miles strong stock TC, trans, and rear diff. I don't go easy on here either

I'm not against Amsoil in anyway great stuff from what I have read. Just don't scare people with silly comments to push your product

So will agree to disagree. Cause you know the saying about arguing on the internet

Iam not here to scare people, iam here to educate them, as i can care less of selling one or two quarts here and there as my business is based on wholesale not retail.
And what might be education for some may not be to you.

you semmed like you were in the same boat os a poster in here that did not know anything about shelf life it came across that way, and i had to ensure you understood there is a shelf life.

i think what happens with me is that iam super **** about this stuff, as i was trainned all my life in an engineering/Aerospace enviroment where we minimize any questions to the max,,, leaving my fluids unsealed for a period of time does not give me a fuzzy warm thats just me not everyone is **** like me.

you know man iam not going to sit here and say,,, Well dont buy diaqueen because it will sit a year before you use the last drop of it,,, reality is oil's / chemicals DO HAVE shelf life dates.

are you going to brake your parts because the oil was sitting out and humidity got in there ,,, i highly doubt it,,, does it make me feel better if they were sealed yes it does.

do this thread a favor and give them a call if you can please.
