2.0 or 2.3 on the fence?

I just got my evo1 back together with the new setup. mahle/scat 2.3 and my special exo X hta73 green. I previously had the turbo matched to a 10.5/1 two liter on E85. The car was certainly fun but I was a little disappointed in the lag in the 2000-3500 ranges. So when the engine bent a rod I decided after two years of trying to make the car fun on 2.0 liters i would go back to the 2.3. I have had many setups in the car. And the car was most fun with the 2.3/20g. The insta spool and torque was just nuts. After the car finally broke the tranny I decided to backstep to 2.0 liters so transmission life would be longer. I spent two years trying to get the fun back. All I have to say now is screw the transmission. The car is soooo much fun on the 2.3 its redonkulous. I will NEVER build another 2.0 liter for my cars. The 2.3 is single most impressive mod you can do for your street car.

The 2.3 HTA green is a match made in heaven. It is just fun beyond description.

More picture please. The car looks great. How did you manage to get such an early model Evo here in the states?

This car was brought over by some rally race quite some time ago. I have owned the car some eight years or so.
There are some more pics here from over the years. mixed in with my colored wheels pics.
