Tranny Noise

While driving lately I have started to notice that when physically moving the shifter from one gear to the next and then letting the clutch pedal out I am getting a noise that I can only describe as a "boop" noise, like if you were to say it outloud it's exactly what it sounds like. I've never heard this sound before and I'm not sure if it's really normal or not. Also been having trouble with getting into my 3rd gear sometimes. If this has been covered sorry for a double post but I could not come up with any criteria to do a search and didn't see and existing threads like this.

trouble shifting usually means gear lockout. it's a quick fix, just adjust your clutch pedal and it should go away. if not, your clutch may be near the end of its useful life.

I had a bit of a moan in my EVO back in the day when letting out the clutch pedal and after I replaced the clutch and TOB it went away. My guess was the TOB was the culprit

Yea, that was one of my thoughts too. It did start also after I put my Fidanza clutch in and I used their TOB, wish I had went OEM, just hope I don't run into any problems with it.

Maybe since I've broken the clutch in it needs some adjustment then. Put the clutch in about 5k ago now.

It's likely to be the TOB. Did you grease it when you installed it? Do you notice any sounds when you are at idle and push the clutch pedal to the floor?

If it is on release only and no odd noises while holding the clutch down it could also be the clutch pedal assembly in need of a little lube. I had an annoying sound from the clutch pedal in my old Colt that sounded a bit like that and it turned out to be pedal assembly related. Not as likely, but possible.

Yes, I did grease it when I did the install. When I have the clutch out it does make noise and when I push it in it stops. I know that noise is the TOB as it's aftermarket so I kind of expected it. It's just that "boop" noise that bothers me. Thanks for the input.
