LOL - I wondered what you meant by "been sitting that way for awhile." I was thinking hours, not days! I still think you're fine, I just didn't expect that response.

your fine...you pour the oil over the cams and it drains through the motor to the pan anways. just always fill the oil filter before installing, but not too full

hhmm learn something new everyday. near thought about filling half of the oil filter, even though I never had a problem always best to take as many precautions as possible.

I always unhook the crank angle sensor and crank the car over in 30 sec intervals until the oil light goes out then hook it back up and fire it up. Prefiling the filter is a good idea as well.

do you cover any of the drain holes with a rag or something? When I leave my car for an hour or so I sometimes wonder if any bugs might try to get up in there. The gear oil smells sweet...in a "I would like to lose some brain cells so I should huff that" kind of way.

haha nah.. i mean the car's in the garage up on all for jacks pretty high up so it'd take a lot work for a bug to get there.. i'm sure it's possible, but i dont know why they would, the fluids are pretty gross haha.. and yea omg gear oil is probably one of the nastiest smells ever.. i was taking my sweet time under the car and i felt really nauseous after

Every car does it after an oil chang, but on my cars i just pull the injector fuses crank it long enough to prime the oil pump then put my injector fuse back in. the crank sensor works to but i wouldnt want it to throw a light.
