I have a 2006 IX MR, with 25k on it and every time I accelarate usually in between 3500 and 6000 rpm my service engine light starts flashing. Doesnt stay on just flashes until i let off the gas, and i cant seem to get the code for it any of you guys know what the problem could be, starting to freak out a little bit. Help please....

 

Lol dude your car has typhra its suppose to do that. Thats tellin you that it's knocking. You need a tune!

 

i sure hope thats the only problem, its not modded i only got hks turbo back exhaust and an a intake, but it started doing it right before those were installed

 

Alot of times it's just spool up knock. Bring it to a tuner and get it tuned. Have them check your rom out and see what ya got on it. You could have some other goodies with it like NLTS and other stuff as well.

No doubt about it, get that baby tuned in a hurry.

 

Oh yea. Nothing but a tune couldn't take care of. Just don't push your ride until you get that checked.

 

my mechanic told me if the engine light flashes it means ur cylinders are misfiring. yeah get it tuned asap

lol well this dates back to my wrx a few months ago when one of my head gaskets ripped. Haven't needed to take my evo to a mechanic yet and havent had any lights come on, but back with the wrx he told me that whenever a check engine light flashes, it means misfire, and in that case he was right, but i guess not in every case

bro, u have a tephra modded rom, and your car is knocking! Sounds like U need a tune to clean up the knock, and you'll be fine.

 

+1 on the Tephra owning you lol. its the knock sensor trying to tell you to get off the gas lol. get a tune like everyone is trying to tell you.
