HKS Racing Suction Filter After 6K

Here's two pictures of the HKS Racing Suction Super Power Flow Filter after 6000 miles. I forgot if it's 6K or 7K. Get them changed at 6K. HKS recommends 3-5K km which is 1860-3100 miles which is BS to me. They're trying to make more money out of us. Here are pictures of lots of highway miles. Driven most in areas of Toronto, Buffalo, and NYC. Got five of them at a total of $55 from Adam at Z1. Took a while but yellow ones wer backordered.

Do this, take off you intake pipe after the filter and look at all the dirt. Those filters suck used to have one on a old car.

do you still have your cold air feed duct? if the filter is exposed to the outside air, it will get dirty quick

that is the job of the filter, to get dirty... all that blackness is not in your engine....

By changing it properly, you will continue to catch the dirt. How is your MAF cage? Is it dirty?

My MAF cage is very clean. I put my finger on it and my finger does not get dirty at all. I believe the filter is pretty good. I will uninstall the whole Racing Suction Kit when the weather is warmer and check the piping if it's dirty.

Great pics TRD. Mine look exactly the same granted I still use the stock green elements. Curious as to how that really distinct multiple parallel lines pattern develops though. Definitely in agreement with the changing intervals.

I agree with 1QWKEVO... I used to use an HKS intake on my MR2 Turbo and later found out that people were having issues with them not filtering as well, I switched right away and will never use the HKS filter. If you think about it "you get what you pay for" the HKS filter is pretty cheap, I wonder why? Im not trying to flame anyone to each their own, but I need a very good filter since I live out in the country. Just my .02 cents
