Question info on springs and retainers..

wats up guys.. got a quick question.. did a search but couldnt find my answer.. i just installed my new setup in my evo.. and running a t67.. i got kelford 272's and looking to raise my revs to 9k or near it... right now im at 7995.. im in the process of buying my arp head studs and wanted to upgrade my head a bit.. do u think if i toss in the gsc beehive springs and keep stock retainers ill be ok to rev to 9k.. i rarely push the car that far so its not like ill be beating on it.. just for safety.. i know alot of people probably recommend the retainers too.. but will she be ok wit just upgraded springs at 9k.. thanks alot any info would be great..

Ah i thought GSC beehives were rated at 8500 rpms. I'd be going with duals for that kind of RPM.

There are allot of Valve train threads......

go to buschurracing, 300.00 for supertech dual springs and retainers, you can probably rev 9K if you need to

GSCs are rated to 9k. I dont see anything talking about your motor though, if its stock you wont want to rev it much past 8500 anyway.

Wait a second. Is your motor built? If not, I would not suggest reving your car that high as you will probably hang a rod out of the block.

To answer your question, Reving to 9k is different depending on what cams you have in the car. With the Kelford 272's I would suggest a dual spring and retainer kit. These cams are a bit more aggressive then most.

What most people miss is the fact that depending on what turbo you have your peak power could be dropping off at 6800 and you really dont need rpms that high
