I dynoed my car yesterday....

Went to ***** Power House in Lexington Ky. yesterday to check their shop out and see what kind of power my car was making.

First off, the shop is nice. It's just huge on the inside. I seen all kinds of nice cars there. They seem to be doing alot of good work judging from the cars.

Anyway...my car ended up putting down 223.5 hp @ 6500 and 236.4 trq @ 3750. I know the Mustang dyno puts a load on the car and the readings are lower than a standard Dynojet, but this is the only AWD dyno I have around here. They told me the difference is generally about 20% lower so my buddy figured my car is making 269 hp and 280 trq if it was a Dynojet.

Does this sound about right with just a HKS downpipe and cat back?

not likely. the mustang dyno does in fact reads lower than the dynojet but not by that much. a 20% sounds correct but between a dynojet and a dyno dynamics.

Allow me to step on my soapbox for a moment and say that dynos are only good for tuning. There are way too many variable that go into a dyno pull to make any kind of consistent comparison between cars somewhere else in the country or dynoed on a different day in different weather--especially with boosted cars because weather plays such a big roll in the results of the dyno.

Really a dyno in a sig should read like this:
XXXAWHP, XXXAWTQ, at XX degrees Farenheit, XXXFT above sea level, with XX% humidity, on a XXX style dyno

couldn't agree more...

thats why i use the dyno just for before and after numbers and for tuning. braging rights should only come from the track with times and time slips.

First off...I wasn't bragging about anything. I was simply asking if the numbers my car put down sounded about right for only having a HKS downpipe and carbon-ti cat back. This was simply to get before and after numbers. I never got a chance to dyno it bone stock so I figured I'd do it with my current mods and go from there.

StriklyBidness...where do you see dyno mumbers in my sig?

LOL...dude...I was TAKING UP FOR YOU! Some guys were giving you a hardtime about what you thought your numbers would be, and I was simply stating that it really doesn't matter what your numbers were because they would be different on a different day or in a different location. I was saying there was no need to compare one dyno against another.

It sounds about right to me. I used a Dyno Dynamics for my car. 247HP, and 250ft/lbs on 91 octane, 10%humidity and 105F. This was with just a B&B turbo back w/ stock Cat.

dude, nobody was saying anything bad about you. we were just stating that the numbers you pulled were great but that your friend was wrong. i never said that you are bragging i just said that you should use the numbers to see how your car is coming alng and therefore it really doesn't matter if the dyno reads high or low. your car sounds very good and good luck with your future plans.

sorry if i wasn't clear before.

Sorry for taking it wrong. It just seemed that I was being attacked for posting the numbers.

I was just really trying to find out if my Evo sounded about right with what I have doen to it when I posted this. That is all. I dynoed my car to see the improvements along the way as I mod and just to get an idea what kind of power it was making.

It's all good fellas...sorry.

Stock EVO's on a 4wd mustang dyno will put down anywhere between 205-210whp. I've only seen one stock EVO that is out of this range.

Just for reference...

I put down 310 on the local mustang dyno with only turbo back, xede, and ebc @ 21 psi ... still seems high to me. Again as said above, they are only good for tuning.
