Drivetrain Question
Just curious whats the threshold limit of our trannys and clutch? I don't drag race, I actually 'am new to Auto X and Im currently learning with my new Evo. Since this is my first AWD car I really don't know how to treat or go about driving it because it's a beast of its own already. I just want to make sure that Im not abusing my Evo's tranny and clutch that it falls apart after 5,000 miles.

well jsut think of what the car was designed to do... Rally car so it's designed to take abuse and vibrations from midspeed, should have a decent power band so it's components should bear geared to handle that range.... If you take ur car hard off the line your ganna wear stuff out fast becasue it wasn't designed to be drag raced, don't powershift the car either becasue your not going to gain much here either... I'm sure the tranny is designed with some durable gears to handle a few grinds here and there becasue it does happen but I can't confirm that. As far as power, the stock clutch won't handle as much as you may think, it will slip fairly easy. The tranny on the other hand should handle a good deal of power, being that the transfer case will let go in most cases first rather then the tranny.
