Upgraded intercooler

What is the best upgraded frount mount? I am going to be doing a 3inch turbo back exhaust, intake, the electronics stuff and whatever frount mount you guys tell me to do. So knowing that these are my engine plans, what is the best frount mount? Thank you, i plan to run no more that 1.5bar of boost and i am going to stick with 91 octain.

For the power you are looking at , the AMS FMIC will fit best, which we carry as well. The price is great- $745( give me a call at 770-904-2644, we can work a deal for that) . The intercooler is 3.625" thick, 20 hp gain, 80% more flow and fits the stock location. Let me know

Thanks

Andy

Buschur will cost $750 and will come with Lower intercooler piping. Get the upper IC tubing for $330. Well worth it. Look at his site.

20hp wow , i have seen the AVO and the most gains that they had was 6whp and 9tq which maid me think that upgrading an IC wasnt worth it . But with this is a differnet story ...

Check out our website. There are pictures of our FMIC kit. The kit comes with couplings and a new lower i/c pipe that eliminates 5 bends and 20" of plumbing. This gives better spool up and better cooling.

Our core is 10.5"x3.5"x24". We are the only company that has copletely re-designed the plumbing for the lower section. We have also been able to increase the air that reaches the radiator for increased engine cooling. The entire kit with the lower i/c plumbing is $750.

This kit has helped us to run 11.65 at 117.88 on the stock head, turbo and engine in our EVO8.

We carry the AMS bolt-on FMIC which will work great with both the stock turbo (cold air is always better.. almost more so with the hot smaller stock turbo running at its max) and any upgrade path you may have..

$765 shipped anywhere in the continental US!!

Hi,

with any turbocharged car, the power gains depend on your current mods, you level of tuning, and the weather conditions. So on a completely stock car, you might not reach 20hp, but on a 320-330whp, the intercooler is definitely a restriction and you will gain these 20hp.
We have not done any dyno tests on the Evo8. But it is a known fact that the intercooler is one of the most important mods necessary to run high boost. The Evo8 comes from the factory with a lot of boost, and the intercooler is not that great if you are trying to explore the limits of the factory turbo.

I personally prefer the Greddy and HKS cores. They have proven to be great for cooling at extreme boost levels, with extremely sized turbos, with a minimal pressure drop and lag.
But as a cheaper and a bolt-on solution, the AMS intercooler is on eif teh best you can get for your car. Of course, if you tell me that you are planning on installing a HKS GT 3240 in the next months, I would advise you against it, because you will be happier with a HKS or Greddy intercooler at that power level.

Not a good core?????

As far as I know AMS has a 650whp 9.77@149mph EVO2 that uses this same core.. They know their ****e..

And yes, they do have dyno proof of the 20hp as well..

Also, they're using this IC for their EVO8 bolt-on kit project.. which currently is at 525whp with incredible spool!

I think that AMS is a good intercooler, including the price , but compared to HKS and Greddy, I personally preffer these two.

Better....

Thanks
Andy
