Performance in Hot Humid Weather
Performance in Hot Humid Weather
I've been noticing a lack of the nice punchy boost feeling while driving during the day in the last few weeks, it's been 95 degrees and very humid. But last night I took it out in the evening in the cooler air, and it was back, and noticeably better.
I'm no expert, but I got this from a different technical forum..
"Less dense air (high altitude or hot air in 100 degree heat), and humid air (less air molecules due to added water) decreases boost and engine performance. More dense air (sea or below sea level, cold air), and dry air (maximized air molecules) increases boost and engine performance."
I'm not 100% sure if I can blame the hot weather or not, has anyone else been having this problem or can anyone confirm that it will make a difference in our cars ?
Or to put it another way, is the inter-cooler, air-intake and even the radiator less effective in 95 degree humid air ?
