why is my grimmspeed ebcs so loud?

hey guys im starting to wonder if my grimmspeed bcs is what is causing my idle issues. i realized that this is the only thing that i really changed since my last tune and i have had fluctuating idle problems ever since. the thing rattles like crazy and whenever i turn the air on..if i give it a tiny bit extra throttle the thing rattles even more crazy! would this make since?

my previous setup was an fp red with ams mbc and my car idled like a stock car.

i got a bbk full and changed to the grimmspeed ebcs and got tuned and boost leak tested more than once and my idle has been crappy ever since. the car wants to die sometimes too when im in traffic and using the clutch frequently.

I dont think its the boost controller causing that. I also have an ebc. I have an AVR-R that makes this annoying buzzing noise whenever I turn off the car and sometimes when it starts to boost. I think its normal to have noise for ebc solenoids.

yeah i have been researching and the noise is normal....but when the air is on the thing gets way worse....and i was just wondering if this can cause a vacuum leak which makes my idle drop and make the car wanna stall

im just lost for words because the car ran perfect before i swapped the fp red and ams mbc for the bbk full and gm ebcs

Check the vacuum lines going to and from the EBCS for tears, then clean your MAF/filter. See if that helps.

No reason to change solenoids if that isn't the problem. Have to rule out all the obvious stuff first.

I'll try this stuff today...there may be a tear in the lines but I doubt it.
also my maf sensor could be dirty because the air filter is right against my power steering fluid and last time the oil place filled it up they dumped a bunch on my air filter

Grimmspeed probably should use a rubber washer. As for you idle I think there is something not 100% in your tune can you e-mail it to me? Did you try bringing it back to where is was tuned to have the tuner check the tune?

i spent 500 for a boost leak test, compression, and retune and lost power since the last tune.

now my strut is blown....ahhhh!! this sucks

Guys, I just revived a previous post on a similar topic of EBCS noise.

A solution I found to do away with the Noise of the Greddy Profec B was to put a Rubber Grommet between the solenoid and the metal of the car.

What happens is that it takes away that valve tapping noise. I'm not sure if the noise just resonates easily when placed directly on the frame or if it has something to do with electrical interference when placing it directly on metal.

Hence putting a rubber piece to stop transmitting the noise or electricity has worked for me.

Atleast, for the Profec B. Will be purchasing and testing this on the Grimmspeed EBCS next week when my car arrives from FL.

Rubber grommet from where? What kind? I'd like my Grimmspeed to not make that annoying ticking noise too!!!!

Auto parts store. It's in the "Help!" Misc parts section normally. Rubber washers, grommet, etc will do. Just something to isolate it from vibration.

Oh, ok. That's easy enough. I probably have something like that in my bucket of "extra parts" from all of my Honda swaps from back in the day. Thanks!
