ACT Xtreme/Street Disk

i replaced the ralliart pressure plate and oem disk setup i had in the car soon after i installed the fp black coz it started slipping.

question, why would the ACT Xtreme pp with their street disk setup feel lighter on the pedal than the Ralliart pp?? if the Xtreme is rated higher clamp force shouldnt it feel heavier or does this have nothing to do with stiffness of the pedal?

strange, i hope it holds the 410ft/lbs at the wheels better than the Ralliart did.

i also upgrade the clutch line with a ss braided one. thanks.

For the FP Black, you need a more heavy duty clutch. Look into the twin disks.

^agree. Eventually the power to be made on the black will kill that clutch. It will probably hold up for a little while but my guess is that it wont last as long as you might want it to.

yeah well the reason i got it was act said it could handle the tq, i really wanted the sprung 6 puck instead of the disk but was worried the 6 speed couldnt handle it.

if it holds power and doesnt lock out at 7800-8000 then i dont care about the softer pedal feel, it just surprised me coz i thought it'll be even firmer.

ACT says the lockout problems are purely installation related. It sounds like the ACT clutches are particularly sensitive to proper balancing when being installed, but lots of people have them and have no issues with lockout.

do you find the pedal to be only marginally firmer than lets say stock or much firmer?

It is firmer, and you will get used to it and I wouldn't have it any other way. It commands respect, you dump the clutch and you could break everything, it slips as easy as stock with a street disk.
