Hey guys. I heard that our U.S. version EVO is tuned down. I was wondering if anybody out there knows the Japan specs on our car?

271 torque (i think it is, i can't remember)
acd/ayc
6-speed on certain models
better seats
no bumper supports
climate control on certain models

other than that i can't really remeber.

they have info on the JDM model (just don't buy a car from them cause you will never see it)

 

Thanks! I guess power wise ours is close. It's just the six speed tranny and AYC etc makes the difference.

I don't think the US evo is down that much on HP,

I have not dynoed my car yet. But via a 4wheel dynojet, on 95 RON (90 pump octane) gasoline a jdm Evo 6 gsr did 269 at the wheels locally. As far as i know it has a cat back as the only mod.

 

It also has an HKS intake along with the catback and is running slightly less boost than stock. Funny thing is an Evo V dyno'd the same day with just a cat back and full factory boost and turned 240 something hp. I wasn't there the day but apparently both cars were detonating, the V more so which would expalin the lower power figure.

 

sorry for bringing back a 3yr old thread but...did anyone watch the bestmotoring drag tourny?? like evo vs sti and 911 turbo vs z06.....so anyways...i kno us version of the 8 is watered down a little bit but the evo 8 in the best motoring video ran like a 12.4-.12.6...wat else can be diffrent from our 8 to thers???the best ive seen on us ver of the evo stock is like a low to mid 13s from magazines...
