opinions on squeezing out a little more power in my setup

hey guys I have the mods in my sig and am looking to get maybe another 20-30whp if I could. I was wondering what you all think.

my two ideas are lose some spool and transient response and go with the bbk full-b or do a ported intake manifold and throttle body and keep the quicker spooling regular bbk full.

I don't mind a little extra lag but I want to know what everyone else thinks. thanks!

Do you have a o2 housing? Have you considered switching to Speed Density? Some places said SD doesn't get you much hp but other places claim that you should pick up 10-15whp with your current hp range. I have similar mods as you, and will be switching over soon, so I will see first hand if I do or not.

I'm looking to keep the maf sensor just for less headaches or I would switch to SD.

I would love to do the ported Im, tb and buy the bbk-b but the funds won't allow unfortunately. I will have to chose one or the other

I do have an o2 housing also

depends on how much money you want to spend, there are a ton of turbos out there or you can just get an e85 tune. I saw a nice gain with a dump tube and a retune, thats another option for you

if there was e85 around I would just get some bigger injectors and a retune and call it a day but we don't have any stations around here.

the dump tube would probably help but I'm scared if I ever have to get it inspected or something

Intake Mani will make all the difference..if you want more bottom to mid range power go with MAP Rev 3..If more top end Id look into the Magnus v5

Rather than focusing on hp and tq numbers, try thinking of ways to reduce weight...

Ask any racer the key to going fast whether its drag, auto, redline time attack is weight.....

reduce overall weight

some of the key ways to drop weight:

1. get rid of the spare tire and tools
2. AMS carbon Fiber Roof
3. Rims
4. Suspension pieces that are remade by AMS or Buschur

The fastest way to make 20-30 whp is to buy a sheet metal intake such as the AMS VSR F1, Magnus, Buschur and a retune.

You will lose a few hundred rpms in spool however you will make 25-40 whp in the mid to higher RPM range.

reducing weight is definitely important...i may get some lighter wheels someday but im not looking to spend a sh*tload of money either. i think i may do meth or just get the bbk full-b for the time being.

if u guys had to chose meth or the bbk-b what would be your choice?

For an extra 20whp you can do what has been stated above. 65mm TB and Matching ported Intake Mani. I went up 16whp/20torque by using Buschur Racing Ported stock mani and tb combo. Not too expensive either. Took my car from 436whp to 452whp and decreased spool time by almost 500rpms. Check some of my old posts with graphs for some hard evidence.

Upgrading the turbo to hit your goal is always my fav way to go..BUT $1800 more or less for a new turbo ...or less than $600 for the tb/mani combo. Your call.

Good Luck.

well itll cost 600 to upgrade my bbk full to the bbk-b so itll be about the same price. i heard mixed things about the intake manifold and throttle body. some people see substantial gains and other say it didnt do much of anything...
