For a few week a have this ticking sound, many told me it was lifter tick but i just changed them for jam upgraded and it is still doing it. It started after a 1\4 miles run and found out that it missed about a quart of oil.

I found this video on youtube and it is exactly what mine is doing some people say it is the timing belt tensionner, could it really be?

well, looks like lifter tick.

That's what i tought but it is still doing it after the new JAM lifters.....? So i'm kind of stuck now.

Umm, it's completely normal. Engine sounds great. The timing belt tensioner is on the side of the engine just above the crank pulley. What you are hearing is the cams hitting the lifters, hence the ticking. Put a screwdriver on the engine and up to your ear and you will hear the internal sounds the engine is making. It's metal on metal contact that you are hearing.

But why is it doing it now, and for one year it didn't do it, There must be something wrong and a way to solve this because i'm reading excessive knock.

Hah, apparently you never owned a 1g or 2g DSM.

The real question should be why wasnt it ticking before

True never owned a dsm but still there must be something to do.According to what i saw the dsm problem was du to the lifters, using revised lifter solved a lot of problem on those. Stil,l has i said, the problem is not has much the annoying sound but the fake knock it ears.

Could it be a valve seal?

If you have changed out the lifters it's hard to say without a thorough inspection. Have you changed the oil since the lifter swap? You ran a little low on oil when this started so It could be a few things.
Some things I would check (in this order) are:
one of the lifters wasn't blead correctly on install or is sticking
bent valve
valve springs

It does sound like it's in the head and not down in the block so that's a good sign. Maybe try an oil change and see what you hear, could just be some gunk gumming up one of the lifters.

There really shouldn't be any lifter tick. I have installed enough cams in 8 and 9's to know there shouldn't be a ticking. Jam may be a little louder but not louder then a injector firing. If you installed high lift cams then things would be louder under the valve cover.

New lifters are sometimes defective and never pump up. I never had one do it though. You may have collapsed one of your older ones, dirt may have plugged it but thats rare. There may be a blocked passage, but that is an extreme case of motor neglect.

Regardless, from the vid you have a tick and better find it.

Personally I would pull them, bleed them and re-install. It should stop.

How many miles? My pulley belt tensioner went at 59k and it started as a tick I initially thought it was an exhaust leak at the turbo or something because it was more pronounced when cold. It then started to get louder, the belt slapping the cover, luckily I caught it before my timing skipped. Place a screwdriver on the timing belt cover and put he handle end to your ear, then do the same to the ignition coil cover, Which ones louder?

I changed oil about two weeks before i changed my lifters.

But i'll will try listen to where the sound is coming from, i tried with a stethoscope i had and sound seemed to be louder on cylinder 2 on the exhaust valve but i didn't checked the timing cover.

Then i'll purge oil ,bleed the lifter and refull oil. And see happens, Thanks for your help!

Please do let us know if that fixes the problem. I just did my cams, bled the lifters, sounded great for about a day and now is making a similar noise.
