Buschur Intake Installed! (Pics)

I finally got my BR MAF intake installed
with the stock uicp which wasn't that fun.
Took her for a quick test drive but
can't really feel any power difference.
I was told by everyone that I don't need a tune
yet. I don't have a cel or anything. Maybe I need
a tune in order to feel the power gain?

I know I know, its time for a small battery kit and
a different uicp set up lol

If this is the only thing you have done, and you plan on doing more, you may want to wait on the tune...

A tune at most places is around $400... you may not want to tune and retune and tune again everytime you get something done... it'll get expensive fast...

You'll get a lot more out of the intake with atleast an exhaust.

Hope that helps!

Did you expect to get serious gains by just the intake ? Do you log your car ?

with an intake you wont feel very much power difference. maybe a little more mid range or up top, if your REALLY LOOKING for it.

regardless, it is a good mod to have for down the line. Let me know how you like it, because I am in the market for the same or similar.

It all depends on the car, but most cars tend to run like crap with an open filter intake and no tune. Watch your AFR gauge (if you have one) to ensure you dont run uber lean and blow something up. Again, you may be fine, just saying...

i doubt you will gain much, especially with sucking hot air out of the radiator.
make sure you shield it off, and feed it cold air.

I suggest you get a tune in order to take advantage of the extra flow added and fuel needed...Evo's are weird cars changing a clamp needs a retune on them..

I would really suggest a retune, most tuners will do a good deal on retune fee to help you along the way of your mod process.

yeah I wasn't expecting much from the intake maybe just a quicker spool lol haha I have full cbe, licp, intake and bov. I am planning to get a tune after testpipe, mbc and intercooler. But since Evos run hella rich from the factory, I dont think a intake would make it run lean without a tune

I feel the same way, they are very very rich from the factory. So u will be fine with the intake and no tune ( for now )

I would suggest following Buschur's modification path / advice....Basically it sounds like you'll be somewhere around a stage 2 - exhaust, mbc, LICP, and FMIC.....Not sure if you need a FMIC...depends how hard you really are going to push your turbo.

Well said don't think you need the fmic right now. Wait until you do a few more mods before you get tuned, will save you quite a bit and really at this stage you are fine without it.

Hey i got new spark plugs....but i didn't notice any power gains? look not to be an ***, but you won't notice much of anything by just adding an intake, especially in the butt dyno
