transfercase issues

Why does the lancer evo transfercase break so easily. Is it because of the harsh enguagement or do people really run these cars into the ground. Im just asking an dhow much is the repair cost about roughly?

Like anything else with the evo..you take care of it...it'll take care of you...just keep it maintained...

And if you're planning on launching or anything...make sure you read about how to do it properly...

People launch these cars alot, which can be a huge strain on the drivetrain if not done correctly. That and having a car that produces upwards of 500torque to the ground is going to be difficult on a transfer case that was only made to support almost half of that. When you up the power, things will break. Its just a price we pay to play the game we love.

Here are your rebuild prices.

Edit: Red beat me to it above.

There is so much info on this, try searching just a little.

To briefly answer your question though there is A LOT of force on the ring & pinion when launching and AWD car. Got mine fixed my Shep racing and no complaints. They have prices on their website.
