Big Issues!!!

I recently installed the greddy rs bov recirc and the cobb intake. I've been driving it around town testing to make sure everything is still working like it should. Anyway, I ran her a bit hard today and I come home to hear a hissing sound and pop the hood to find the radiator is leaking bad. Fluid is everywhere! I'm not sure what really could have caused it I've looked around and I don't see anything that looks immediately suspicious, no hoses disconnected or belts broken. Does anyone know what could be causing this?! I don't want to go to a dealer and spend a fortune if it's an easy fix. But from the way things sound I'm not sure that will be the case.

Any help is Greatly appreciated!!!

It's radiator fluid. I haven't taken the bumper off yet so I'm not sure exactly where it is but it is quite a bit of fluid that leaked out of the bottom of the radiator and when I turn the car on the radiator makes this hissing noise. Also,on top of the radiator near the hose is some fluid bubbling up. I hope I didn't blow the radiator.I'm about an hour away from the nearest mitsu shop so I'm not even sure it would make it there without overheating. And they're sketchy at best anyway. I'm not sure what could be the cause or really what to do about it.

Take the radiator cap off and let it idle then answer the following -

1. Is it slowly rising over top of radiator cap once its hot. Or...
2. Is it bubbling over / popping out.

If 2. you may have blown your headgasket on your spirited run. If you have a MBC and did not lower it after installing your new BOV and the old one was leaky you might have spiked more than anticipated.

If 1. it is likely a leak somewhere on the radiator or a hose. Just search for fluid dripping.

Headgasket??? Remove the rad cap and start her up. If there is a gusher, head gasket took a dump.

Hopefully is just a hose though.

if you got an air compressor pressure the system a little bit that will show you where your leak is.

Alright so when I did the idle test I don't think I've got enough in there to even get anything to gush. All I saw after it began to warm up was there was steam that started to come out of the outlet for the radiator cap. At first It didn't seem steady but after I shut it down it went pretty steady. This wasn't alot of steam just a bit I really had to look to see it.

I don't have a mbc so the boost was still set at stock. Thanks for the replies really appreciate it

Top off your radiator and try again. You don't want it to over heat.

I'll have to go grab some fluid and test it again. This is probably a dumb question but will it matter which type of coolant/antifreeze I put into the radiator. Or is there a certain type I need to use.

as of right now just use water until you find out what is leaking.

Just use the 50/50 Prestone Collant.

I added water and it's just spilling over once it warms up. from what I saw it looked like it was dripping from the bottom of the radiator. So hopefully that rules out the headgasket.Although I probably could use a new one anyway

If its just spilling that means your headgasket is probably solid.

Could be a stuck thermostat. Pull the thermostat and redo your test. If it stays cool then buy a new thermostat and your golden.
