those with a 2.4

I've been doing a 2.4 build and have ran into somethig I need to ask others that have done it. I almost have the engine togather and ran into a problem with the timing belt tensioner. The actual pully is rubbing the water pump. I am using the evo water pump with an adapter. Has anyone else run into this? What was done to fix it and keep the pullies in line with eachother? This is pretty much the last thing I need to iron out to finish putting it togather and back in the car. Thanks all.

Sounds like you did not get the proper waterpump adaptor plate to mate evo head to 4g64 block with that everything should line up perfect

I have the right stuff. Same as what you have pictured. all bolt holes line up and so do gaskets. Tensioner pullie scraping the water pump. How thick was you adapt.? I'm thinking mine might be too thick.

Just a quick question. Since you are both doing 2.4 blocks is it alot more work to get everything to fit in the car. Or is it a straight forward install

Explain your question more in detail. Its a straight drop in affair. You have to do special items on the shortblock to get it to mate with evo head

This is for both of you. I was gonna go 2.3 but it seems more cost efficient to go 2.4, Ive done research on both some say the 2.4 is difficult to install. I thought it was basically an adapter to get everything lined up. What was your reason for the 2.4 over the 2.3.
