bov

i got a question i heard that if i disconnect my stock wastegate from the intake it will sound like a blow off valve is this true and if so will it mess anything up in my car please help me out

I am no expert on this, but I am pretty sure you need to actually buy a wastegate that vents to the atmosphere. I don't think you can just disconnect the stock one.

Wastegate is not the same as BOV. Wastegate opens in the exhaust to release pressure from the turbo when it goes above the required boost. BOV releases the pressure from the I/C pipe to protect the turbo from the pressure surging back against the turbine wheel when you release the throttle.

To answer your question, NO do not do it. First the stock one is a recirc valve and it will pull in unfiltered air when it is open. IT will cause a host of idle issues.
