HELP! Another GSC S2 Cams Question

Hi guys,
im in a desperate need of advise as recently ive bought a set of GSC S2 camshaft for my Evo 5 but today my mech noticed that the cam angle does not fit my engine as he said it most likely will fit an Evo 7 perfectly but for the older Evo's like mine he need to modify the "Screw Size" to bigger.

I don't know what he trying to tell me but i hope someone here know what im try to convey.

Thank you.

Hi Guys,
today my car was finally pre-started after almost 2 months of hibernation but when running...the idle is abit rough.

Just curious,if say we set the cams wrongly what will be the sign? can it still run non stop for abt 5 minute? My mech said there is some mis-firing problem and will it due to the cams setting?

I trust my mech as he has put alot of effort in rebuilding my car and i just hope to hear others opinions...

Thanks

typically GSC's dont need to be degreed.

The dowels wont let you rotate them.

Is your cas rotated 180deg?

what is your idle set at?

idle timing?

Also did you install a new tensioner with the cams? If it jumped time and bent valves after 5 mins of running fine.. then that will show on a compression test.

CammedEvo,well im not too sure but no we didnt change the tensioner...You mean if the valve is bent the engine still can run without giving any loud knocking noise?

If the tensioner is collapsed the back side of the timing-belt will be very loose. It will create loud tapping noise (almost like knockin but not quite).
