I'm looking around for JDM titanium exhausts with an O2 sensor fitting. I've got the JIC full Ti Bullet exhuast but it's gotten a little too loud over the past few months so I'm looking for a new Ti system. I'm looking for one with a N1 style canister/angled out tip.

PS.....don't tell me anything about Buschur, AMS, RMR, etc....I personally prefer JDM products.

 

Just to clarify...

JDM exhausts don't come with O2 sensor fittings because they're meant for the Japanese Domestic Market. You probably meant exhausts manufactured by Japanese companies for the US Domestic market (USDM).

HKS has an angled tip all stainless steel exhaust with a titanium canister wrapped in carbon fiber.

 

Sorry I wasn't clear....I actually meant both. Do you happen to know anybody that could weld SS(O2 bung) to Ti do you..........could AMS............?

 

Anybody have experience with the Tanabe Ultra Medallion?? How much does it weigh?? What kind of power gains did you get?? How does it sound with and without the silencer?? Does it fit the J-Lo sized USDM bumper??

 

AMS could or any other muffler shop.

 

Can weld to Ti? Doubtful if any muffler place can weld to Ti in this country......

None of the JDM exhausts have the 02 bung for the rear, but that is easily solved by fitting a test pipe that houses an 02 sensor...like the Ultimate Racing one we sell.

Tanabe Ultra Medallion is stainless piping with Ti muffler and is a US Spec exhaust.

 

It's not easy to weld to titanium. Our downpipe and cat delete includes an O2 bung so no need to worry about it if you're using it. Otherwise I'd say weld it in your cat delete if you have one.

 

Can I weld an o2 sensor bung onto my downpipe?? If I can I think I'll go grab an ARC exhaust. How's the fit.....do I need a JDM bumper.....who sells JDM bumpers???

I was also think about the Tanabe Ultra. How does it sound with and without the silencer?? And what kinda of power gains would I see??

 

Why not do what adam said, I was going to go with the Fujitsubo dp, UR race pipe, ARC ti catback. the 02 sensor will fit in that ur race pipe and will not trigger a cel. But with the ARC catback its shorter so u will need a ver.7 bumper

 

THe O2 wiring will not let you mount it too far upstream. It will let you mount it in the rear portion of the cat (or cat delete if so fitted) but not on the downpipe. In fact you can't even move it around to drive's side of car where there is more room due to how short the wire is so some minor trimmming or bending of the heat shield may be necessary.

 

dan are u going to make a down pipe, and or cat delet pipe that doesnt cause a cel like ur dp for the wrx?

 

Yep...Dan's got a nice one coming out very soon we'll be offering as well 3 inch downpipe with integrated test pipe and no CE light

If you're looking for Ti exhausts, the only one I know of currently that may have an 02 sensor bung is the JIC Ti. Make sure to ask that it is the US spec ones, as they are the ones that probably have the 02 sensor bungs welded in. The JDM versions won't, plus they also won't clear our USDM bumpers.

There is another Ti system that is not out yet, but has been in the works for US release, which is the Trial Ti catback.



It looks like it might be of better build quality than the JIC, but their US release may not be for another couple of months. If you want more info, email scott@trial.co.jp.

I think I'm going with the Tanabe Ultra Medallion I heard the Ultra on a friends car and it sounded so much nicer than the JIC....and this was without a silencer. Its loudness is kind of bewteen the HKS Carbon Ti and the Buschur catbacks. It may not be as light as the JIC but the quality and sound is better IMHO. Thanks for the help guys!
