Help

I'm new to this car, previous I was driving an 01 Audi S4 with slight tuning (2+ for anyone familiar) I picked up an 03 Evo with 80k on the clock. I could tell it had been previously modified but returned to stock. Some nicks and scratches but not bad for a 7 year old car. Plus it was the only one avaliable locally from a dealer ( needed to trade my car in upside down value). Any way to the question: ( I did search but my familiarity with this type of forum is minimal I'm used to quattroworld.com) Sorry for rambling. The car seemed to run perfectly when I bought it. I bought an Injen intake and intercooler piping and was amazed at how easily it went on. The seemed to have significantly more power rightaway then boom lost an intercooler hose slipped it back on and tightened it down and went out again got further this time but lost the same hose again (other end) again tightened it down as hard as possible. It held well again the car felt powerful again. I went for a longer drive and took a couple hard pulls to make sure everything was tight before putting the bumper back on. All was well so I put the number back on then drove again not hard just my normal slightly aggressive driving the car started knocking and felt weak under boost real weak CEL came on suddenly then died when I pushed in the clutch and would not start nor even turn over I tried a couple times. I let the car sit for 5 or so min then tried again, it started fine and I drove home still knocking and weak under boost. All the piping feels solid but I drove it again this morning after disconnecting the battery and clearing the Cel but still knocks and is weak under boost. Only drove around the block. Did I mess the car up or am I in need of a tune to accommodate for the intake and piping? Additionally there was a part that was attached to the airbox bracket (looks like a boost controller). One of the hose connections was broken looks as if it was broken before and glued not sure if I broke it again or if it was already broken when I took off the air box? Thanks for the help!

2 things - Buy t-clamps and use hairspray as a spray on glue. The other is I would stop going WOT until you are ready for a retune. Sounds like the previous owner returned it to stock the best he could but probably left the tune intact optimized for the rest of the mods.

Hairspray in the hoses under the clamps? The knock is quite loud i'm a little afraid to drive it even. Also the the broken vacuum hose I mentioned is that the boost controller?
