any update ?? The Turbos are so sweet the prices are ok, and the 7670must be fun on 2.4 mivec engine But nobody tried a 7670 or 7064 on Evo ?
The twinscroll ofcourse need so only T4 but the 1.05A/R worth the more exotic manifold + double external wastagete or just go with the 0.92 and internal wg ?

What rpm should a 7670 boost in on 2.4 ?

the 7670 is between a red and the black or the 3076 and 3586 but spool as a green ?

i would hazard a guess and say 7670 would be max boost at 4200-4400 on a 2.0ltr. Similar to a HKS3037 and GT3076. Depends on the hotside housing i guess.
Everything is speculation at this point, but my tuner has one on preorder (7670 with 0.92 internal wastegate twinscroll) for his 2.2 silvia and 2.5 V11 Subaru STi.

Time will tell

HTA green 54lbmin , 7064 56lb/min max flow

fp red 60lbmin, fpblack 68lbmin, EFR 7670 64lb/min

In twinscroll the EFR 7670 shoud boost in similiar of faster than a REd because the BB ? For the price the EFR give more than Fp red..

6255, 6258 and 6758 are T25 sized. 49 pound/min max flow on the 6758, pretty comparable to the FP white. I bet it would be a pretty nasty turbo for a light weight street car looking for instant response and huge torque.

Or a rally car with a restrictor...

Only problem is they are very "long" (compressor inlet to turbine outlet) with the internal gate and then the 6758 is the largest that will work with any manifold you build for it. 7064 in the T4 divided looks better overall to me.

6258 seems to fit a bill for the application I had in mind. I noticed it says turbine inducer is 58mm, on the Garrett it only lits 53.8 as the "diameter" but doesnt specify minor or major. Since I am lazy and dont want to have to pull one apart, does anyone remember if thats inducer?

Kind of interesting, I tossed some numbers into the EFR Matchbot program real quick to compare turbine flow to the Garret GT wheels.

Garrett GT
GT28 Turbine wheel - 53.8mm/46.9mm
0.64 A/R T25 undivided int/wg - 18 lb/min
0.86 A/R T25 undivided int/wg - 21 lb/min

GT30 turbine wheel - 60.0mm/55.0mm
0.63 A/R T3 undivided ext/wg - 21 lb/min
0.82 A/R T3 undivided ext/wg - 23 lb/min
1.06 A/R T3 undivided ext/wg - 27 lb/min

Borg Warner EFR
58mm/??? turbine
0.64 A/R T25 undivided int/wg - 16 lb/min
0.92 A/R T4 divided int/wg - 19 lb/min

64mm/??? turbine
0.83 A/R T3 undivided - 21 lb/min
0.92 A/R T4 divided int/wg - 22 lb/min
1.05 A/R T4 divided ext/wg - 23 lb/min

If the charts are right on the match bot program, Garrett and Borg Warner use comparable standard conditions, and I did it right, the Garrett GT wheels OWN on airflow for a given inducer. I would imagine the exducer is more relevant though and a larger inducer will just improve efficiency more then anything else. It has been known for a long time though that the GT wheels flow EXTREMELY well.

I think Garrett went with the mentality of maximizing airflow to keep the wheels small as possible to reduce inertia and then stick to standard materials. Borg Warner seems to have taken the larger wheels but with lighter materials. I really wonder how the rotational inertia of a EFR wheel compares to the GT wheel for a given airflow rate. Sure the material is half the weight, but with the wheels being bigger, whats the effective difference between them...

Not sure on how to interpret that data based on my application. I do know the 3 lbs/min difference in the 2860 housing does translate to 10whp in what we are using them on and no loss of spool.

bump. Geoff @ FR just posted some dynos of a 1.8L civic sohc for the smallest EFR turbo on 10PSI. Dyno'd at 255whp with stock 1.3bar MAP sensor, theyre gonna swap the sensor for a 4 bar, and going for 300+whp with more boost. Stock motor puts out ~125 whp. I'd really love to see what a EFR can for the Evo community.

Im so excited i just bought a stock 2003 Evo 8 to use in testing the EFR 7670 twinscroll. got some work to do in january so its ready for testing in february when the turbos arrive
