Aftermarket center differential = ACD delete?

Aftermarket center differential = ACD delete?
Hey,
I was just wondering that if my ACD were to ever die on me with the pump failure or whatever, is it possible to just swap out all the ACD components and just put in an after market center diff like the Quaife Center Differential?
Has anyone done this?
How safe is it to run the car on with the 3-ACD lights always on? What are the pros and cons of this?
I've looked on the forums for a while for these answers and everyone avoids them in the threads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
