T4 no more?

so I had always thought T4 was for a high horsepower setup,
now that T3s are easily making 900whp+,
can anybody think what you would benefit from a T4 setup?

I recently bought a T4 manifold, and I'm looking for a T4 turbo as street worthy as possible, looking to make around 800whp, and I am having a hard time finding something in my interest that is T4 flanged, any input would be appreciated

You could just have the T4 flange cut off and a T3 welded on. Requires a bit of work to compensate for the gap, but I've done it for a few people and they were happy with it.

or I can use a t4 - t3 adapter bolt on flange haha
but I mean,

I am just trying to think of any advantage of a T4 flange,
more high end power compared to a T3 or what else?

T4 is a way better TS option. What turbo are you planning to run?

I was looking into a 6765. trying to make a big number would be easy with that, but idk if the street able powerband would be there

The manifold I have is a SS probably would be sticking with that one if I go T4

There is no negative to using the T4 since you can get small housings. The T3 turbos being pushed as hard as they are is so people already using t3 manis dont have to change them. If starting from scratch I would buy a t4 TS manifold and use whatever T4 turbine housing works the best. It wont hurt to run an open flanged turbo on a TS manifold and you could swap housings easily to see which is better.

HTA86 makes a great street setup in the power range you want.

There are at least 7-8 and I am pretty darn close considering I ran uncorrected on a warm day

My 648whp pumpgas thread in the dyno section has the cars I know are 800+ on this turbo listed.

I'd like to hear more input on this subject. I'm sorta in the same boat as the OP. I'm undecided on a T3 or T/S T4. More information would really help those who are also pondering the same issue.
