Hta3586 vs. Pte6262

ok fellas need some input here. looking to change and upgrade the turbo. im running a peakboost turbo manifold witch now the company is outta biss. so i cant really rely on them for help. currently on a 2.0l built motor hks 272's, 3076r t3 flange. looking for 550+ hp just mixed up on what turbo to run and since not used to the evo just yet will it be a direct fit as long as its t3 4 bolt? and will my wastegate (38mm tial) work?

just seeing what u guys would recomend and have some good input, thanks.

Yes, a standard T3 4 bolt housing will work.

What kind of fuel do you run?

your on the old hks cams correct? I would do a little searching and while your in there consider swapping out for some better bump sticks. it depends on your price range for the mani, the options are endless from boutique manufacturers to big names, you choose.

my vote out of those two goes to hta3586. decent spool with big power potential with the right tuning. what other supporting mods do you have and what is your intention for the car? DD, drag, autoX, road course, dyno queen etc...all those will help others on EvoM give you advice. gl with the build!

I say neither if your only looking for 550-650, go with the HTA3582 instead! Super fast spool and will make 700+hp by or before 40psi depending on the rest of your set up. Remember your on a 2.0l minimize your lag and maximize your performance! It should be a direct fit, not sure about your wastegate though.

I would do either a HTA82 6262 or standard 35R and just bolt it on. It will be laggier but will make more power and have some headroom for when you decide you want 600+. If you are 100% sure you only want 550 then I would get the HTA 3076R and have the best spool possible for that power level.

Funny how we start of trying to minimise the lag with every trick in thr book but eventually we seem to end up with a GT35R size turbo chasing 600-700HP... LOL

I would say depending on your budget:

HTA3582R

or

PTE6235R / FS635

Both are Garrett 35R dual ball bearing based turbos with Billet Wheels; The precision you can score for almost $500 cheaper if you on a budget and it uses the same comp wheel as a 6262.

And throw in s a set of GSC S2's while your at it...

I personally like the 3582r for what you are doing. We have made over 660 whp on our dyno with one.

I agree with you, this guy isn't trying to make major power, so why run a major turbo. It's unnecessary lag at the expense in power band for a car that clearly doesn't sound like a race car. The HTA3582 will make the power needed and spool faster than anything mentioned in this thread.

The fuel type and supporting mods will also have a significant effect, as well as the tuner.

I would agree the HTA would be a great choice in this case.
