Anybody elses car whistles??????
Installed Buschur FMIC, upper I/C, and MAS pipe. Had a boost leak, but got that taken care of and now am bosting 20 psi to redline. My car whistles, but I thought it was a leak, but it still whistles even after I fixed the leak. Is this a normal noise when putting all this stuff in? or could there be a crack in a weld or a faulty BOV????

I have the same problem after installing mine as well. Did not have the problem on my 2g, nor have I ever heard it on another car. When I called Buschur, they stated that it was not normal. The sound is annoying. I have pinpointed the timing of the whistle. It appears to be more evident on vaccum vs. boost. I can here it more when letting off throttle gently. Sometimes I here it when parked. It is indeed coming from turbo area, because I can hear it through air filter. It does not always so it at idle. Its really f'ing annoying.
Holy crap.
This is what I can tell you guys. Not sure why there is mixed information. Maybe it is the mixed problems we heard and the times it happens.
There are three things we can come up with that will make your car "whistle".
#1 Reason is the turbo making the sound, this is going to happen under some type of acceleration. Part throttle or WOT it can and should happen.
#2 The 1G BOV's are known for making a whistling sound just before the valve closes at part throttle driving. This is caused from the air going past the actual valve and the seat, it is usually more noticable with a vented to atmosphere BOV. You can usually only here it when you aren't on the throttle hard, like normal driving or parking and such.
#3 Not super common but happens. There is a small bleed orifice on the side of most manual boost controllers, these can cuase a small whistle too.
Whistle while you work...or drive.
