i am working on getting my build straight and i think i may have a block what is the latest year 2.4 you can use for the evo 9 (mivec) i think it is a 99 galant motor but may be a 97-98 not sure if theres a differance the head gasket is the same as the newer 4g64 and so is the crank 100mm.
just wondering right now if it will work with my build cause it is free if it will work. any input guys please let me know i am on a 4 grand budget and want to put together something nice

 

im pretty sure the 97-98 from the 7th gen face the opposite way like the 2g eclipse then the 99up 8gen face the same way as the evo.

 

mine is out of an 04 eclipse.
