My Quartermaster twin makes noise when I engage the clutch to start moving in first gear. I think its normal but I'm not sure. Probably the same noise we're talking about.

I run a triple exedy on my DD. First engagement is the worst. When it gets hot, it sounds like loud grinding noise. I remember when it was first installed i thought my tranny was gonna fall out.

Our Exedy Triple is extremely easy to drive and makes no unusual noises other than the usual clatter at idle with the clutch pedal untouched.

I got the same thing, obviously. Non-car people prob think the car is a POS and is falling apart.

Mine has recently (within the 2 weeks I've had it) started making a squeaking noise on a slower engagement, if I do it quicker the noise will be gone or very faint. But it hasnt done it past 2 days so prob just a temperature thing.

What EXACTLY is the grinding noise? I've heard it's the springs in the clutch which I can sometimes hear a seperate noise which sounds like springs rattling around but what makes that actual grinding noise?

if u have an exedy triple im pretty sure u dont have springs. its the 3 plates grinding together i beleive that makes the grinding noise when u decelerate

I didn't think it had springs but whateve.

The noise is only when the clutch plates are seperated like when the clutch is depressed, not when your accelerating or decelerating since the clutch would be fully disengaged then and all the plates locked together

So the chatter when the clutch pedal is pushed in is normal? Just installed a triple and was checking on all these noises it makes

Mine also sometimes "dog barks" when engaging in 1st. It's a low pitched screeching sound.
