Exaust Header Manifolds on Ebay

Just noticed some stainless steel headers on ebay ranging from $75-$150. Are these any good or are they junk? Putting a stock motor back in my sons 8 and thought they might look good to dress it up in place of that ugly stock manifold.

Stick with a ported stocker...welds will probably crack before you get enough miles on it to do an oil change...

dont get a knock off from ebay, you get what you pay for and $75 is way too cheap and its probably junk

i actually have ran a ebay tubular mani... i ran 25psi on a stock turbo for a year and then switched to the fp green and with a bad tune spiking to beyond the limits of my boost gauge i ran for 800 miles before i put the car down for the winter. the other day i noticed a very fine hairline crack across the collector/turbo flange. i'm nearly certain its not even all the way through. the welds werent deburred and were kinda sloppy but i cleaned them up with an air grinder and a cheap stone kit from autozone...

for give the mess... i was in the middle of half the installs of my sig

spend some of that $75 and port the stock manifold and a can of 2000 degree exhaust temp paint. you'll prolly end up with $60 back in the pocket assuming you have the tools for porting.

yes i would stay away. The cheap manifolds tend to easily crack and the flanges are normally never flat and need to be machined.

Thats what I thought, they are junk. I was just trying to dress up the engine bay on the car while the motor is out.

maybe yall missed my post... but they are well worth the 75 bucks... and the flanges on mine were perfect.. maybe i'm a one time ebay success story... but i was really happy with it... many people have had the same problems or worse with high dollar mani's but do as you wish....

I know a few who ran the megan with no cracking issues at all. I know gruppe-s, titek and others sold a cheap version which held up well. Does it make more power than a stocker or ported stocker - that I don't know.

Best bet it to just send it to a place like buschur racing and have it ported and coated. I think its only 200 and well worth it!

General Consensus is that it is absolutely will break at the welds.... I have a buddy that uses tons of ebay stuff on 240sxs and has never had a single problem. Up to you in the end I suppose. I am a fan of cast iron on turbo applications myself.
