Thanks for taking the time and posting, but damn, I sure don't like that. I'm not knocking your work, just the design... I'm still thinking of buying it, cutting the bottom 1/4" to 1/2" of the intercooler off, and rewelding it. Anyone have pics of it that used a heat gun on the undertray?

Take no offense ... I'm one of those old ex aerospace types that used to make parts pretty that would never again see the light of day...

Wow those things look nice but do you feel any difference from the stock IC. I hate to spend over $1K on a IC if it don't do much. And how much more power do you gain with after market IC with stock Evo?

Thanks

Think it was Pruven that claimed 25 ft lbs increase on an otherwise stock Evo VIII... I think their core is the longest also... not sure about core thickness...

Correct me if i am wrong, as I do not own an evo, but typically manufacturers use tube and fin intercoolers, which are less efficient than bar and plate (spearco type cores) plus the end tanks are smaller, and the stock core is probablly thinner. They do this to save cost generally, as production budgets are VERY tight. Typically bar and plate cores have less static pressure drop across them, meaning faster spool up, higher cooling efficiency, and provided you have good end tank design, you will have faster spool, transient response, and better flow through youre new efficient intercooler.

Thanks for posting the great shots of our FMIC kit.

Our kit is only $750 actually, not over $1,000 like someone said. We are using a bar and plate core and have completely re-designed the lower intercooler plumbing to the turbo which is also included in the kit.

Thanks again for posting,

hey dave,
what spearco core are you running? Did you look into the 2-216 core at all, or is there NO way that that would fit.

We aren't running a Spearco core actually. They are way to willing to sell anything we come up with to anyone that wants to buy it.

Hi Dave,

Im interested in this kit and wondering if an HKS BOV would fit on your intercooler piping.

Thanks

what core are you using then? That is a bar and plate correct? What dimensions, and what did you find is the largest you can physically cram under the bumper of the evo?
