Mike Reichen's data acquistion stats with the 80mm Borg Warner

Mike pulled up his first ever data acquisition log using the Race Pac GPS unit, and the numbers are pretty impressive. This was on a 40 psi boost pass, and there's a lot left in it. The numbers are pretty stout and the recovery time of the big snail is amazing thanks to Mike's tuning, Head Dynamics ported head, and Shearer Fabrications long tube divided header. I'm going to try and do some screen shots of the data and post them later.

"This was done at the oct. texas mile on the aborted run and is the only data log that I have as I just installed the system in the car. It was on an unprepped track on a street tire" Mike Reichen

60-130 mph= 4.3 sec
100-150 mph= 3.54 sec
130-190 mph= 6.07 sec
0-186.5mph (or 300 kmph)= 13.2 sec - no launch and short shifting
0-200 mph= 16.7 sec

The Porsche and Supra guys can chew on those numbers, and only quicker ones to come this spring.

That is really impressive. Geoff and I have been chatting about doing an EFR turbo on my car in the summer but I'm not 100% sure yet. I need some more testing to change my entire setup and drop $$$ like I'm a baller! And I'll give you a hint, I'm not...

That is some impressive numbers. What was whp?

Somewhere around 1,000 ahwp at that level, but if the car was launched and driven harder it would of gone quicker, plus theres another 10 psi on the table.

Just a little info on that pass, this was the first pass of the weekend so I didn't drive the car very hard, it was not launched, I short shifted it in every gear and did not shift the car very fast at all.

For a few comparisons
The 60-130 mph time is just faster than the fastest porsche I could find listed anywhere at 4.3 seconds, on a sticky tire or slick and driven harder I'm pretty sure it will run well into the 3 second range in the 60-130.

The 0-300km time was much slower than previous times I have pulled before, but it still wasn't too bad ( this is a test that they use alot in europe, it is run on street tires) at 13.2 secs it is still one of the fastest passes by a street car ( my car should run in the 11's or better next year).

As for the 0-200 mph my car has run much better previously at around 14 seconds.

Good God, that car hauls ***.

If You don't mind me asking, what does the car weigh?

Im trying to remember exact weight, but being that we've added some more aero the numbers may have changed a bit. Last time we weighed his car with him in it I want to say it was around 2900. The car is definitely not a tin can. People gotta respect that a car of that weight has reached the speeds that it has. Though, there's some good weight that could come out of the car both Reichen and us say "Why do that? It goes fast!" The question that arises from time to time is how much faster could this car go if it went on a diet with additional aero work.

This EVO also retains full glass and metal body panels as well as stock breaks. With some zero drag breaks and/or lightweight rotors, some weight reduction with additional aero improvements and boost ***** to the wall it should put down some untouchable numbers.
The numbers now are damm impressive, but with some tweaks it's going to be interesting.

Awesome numbers Mike! The car will put down some serious times/MPH this year with the game plan you guys have going!

Good luck, and I will see you around!

I was thoroughly impressed w/ the 4.3 60-130mph time. I don't even know what to think now that I hear it weighs ~2900lbs. That takes some f'in power.

Regards,

Kurt

Thanks guys !!
And just think this is on a street tire with the supposedly "laggy" 80mm borg warner turbo.
If I had driven the car harder , shifted faster and most importantly reved it higher it would have put down a much better time, oh well something to look forward to this year.
