Just found this thread, I bought one after talking to one of the guys at FP who suggested it to me back in Jan. My EVO VIII MR turbo seized and it was my daily driver so I couldn't install it till i had a second vehicle to drive. My parents go to aruba for all of feb to march so I had their Jeep to drive for 5 weeks. Work kept me away from installing it till late Feb. It definitely is a nice improvement over Stock on the 8. I had to buy the fluid lines to make it fit and also I decided to go with an 18psi actuator which i installed wrong where the waste gate was always closed never allowing boost of so i didn't do much full WOT this way. Obviously I didn't want my engine to explode . It was also put on a completely stock car with all stock gauges so i couldn't even measure correct boost, the stock MR gauge was getting buried on the couple runs I did at full boost till fuel cut made it feel like i hit a brick wall. So it going way past the 1.5 bar mark.

Once I fixed how the WG was installed the car drove much better, and peak's boost at about 24 with no tuning on stock exhaust and intake etc. Then Fuel cut comes in with the brick wall feeling but not as sever as before. It builds boost pretty quick and one thing it does better than Stock is it pulls hard way up to 7000rpm. I bought all the cables for logging and a WBO2 and AEM boost gauge. So once i have time and read up more on logging and add a map sensor or some how figure a way to use the AEM 3.5 bar map sensor analog out to feed into the ECU i'll get more accurate boost reading as the logging is showing 47psi with the stock 1bar MAP , obviously its wrong. Also I am still learning the ECU flash and EVOscan stuff so I could be doing something wrong.

they also told me in testing they hit 470 HP to wheels with this turbo.

But I do recommend this turbo for those on a tight budget, even with the 150 bucks for the install kit for the 8 its worth it.

Huh? the green upgrade with sending in your turbo is 869.

http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...=Turbo-Upgrade

with the 71HTA they send you the cartridge. Easiest way to upgrade. No removing the entire Turbo. buy it they send you the cartridge instal it and send back the core if you want another 100 off. I kept mine, Might try to rebuild it for the fun/learning aspect of it.

the white which is a smaller turbo is 45 dollars more, maybe you meant that?

I got it installed all basic bolt ons made 400 HP and 394 tq at 28 lbs boost on mustang dyno. It was about 94 degrees out at 11 pm when we did it too. Spoils fast as Hell. Want to up boost but car starts doing stupid **** like high rpm misfire when shifting so left it at 28 lbs. Runs great where it is but always find myself wanting more.

Can you elaborate? What type of fuel? Other mods? Who tuned it and at what facility?

I will have similar supporting mods, except with stock intercooler and o2 dump, and be running 93

Ill be trying to go speed density aswell on the stock ECU, but may end up starting with MAF
