Manual boost controller or Electronic/ECU boost control? Which one?
I use the Autronic stand alone in my car for boost control, I am able to hold rock solid boost all the way to the 8700RPM redline. ECU based FTW! As long as your tuner knows how to setup ECU based boost control I don't think there is anything better.
I'm using a Link Ecu (www.linkecu.com) and i'm using ECU boost control.
100% rock solid and flat boost curve.
It can also reduce your boost levels if your water and/or oil temp is too high for extra safety.

That makes no sense to me ... As long as the WG is not getting any boost pressure the spool should be the same for ECU vs MBC controlled boost....Where ECU boost should be better is if you want to control your torque spike, but still hold power up in the higher rpms (e.g. my setup - stock block ).
Additionally, the ECU controlled boost, using Tephra v7, allows you to kill boost should your knock get above a certain level (you define the counts). This to me is the best reason for keeping the ECU controlled boost.

TruBoost holds boost great, has many settings and features, and lets you change your boost settings on the fly if you live in a state that is hot one day and cold the next. Has a few safety features, but nothing like ecu controlled.
When it comes down to it, get the TruBoost, Hallman, or Ecu controlled and you'll be fine.

let me add my 0.02 op, ive ran greddy profec b spec 2 ebc, was good a little hard to dial it in, but worked good till it failed on the dyno, swapped to dejon tool mbc which works well but youll get some boost taper in the top end, and when i go back for a retune with map rev 2 intake mani tb, and some kelford cams, swappin out that mbc for a gruppe s 3port so i can hold more boost to redline, personally, get a 3port itll do the best, it can be integrated to work with the stock ecu, and no one can mess with it while the hoods popped haha
Another benefit I have seen from ecu/electronic boost control is the ability to control boost and control tire spin. I know we're awd but tire spin still happens.
