Power Steering Question

May be a silly question but would like to know. Are you supposed to check the power steering fluid while the car is running? Best checked when engine is warm?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Check it when it's off, that's when it will be at its highest. According to the manual:

Check the difference of the fluid level when the engine is stopped, and while it is running. If the fluid contains air or has milky appearance, or the fluid level fluctuate by 5 mm (0.2 inch) or more, power steering system air bleeding should be done.
