putting the tranny back in place

hey all,
My buddies and I are in the middle of replacing my clutch for my ix mr.
We were able to pull the tranny out but its a pain in the butt to get it back in, especially working on the ground.
We are using a tranny jack to get it up to the position but it seems like there is so little room to get it in. It keeps hitting the front subframe(?).
So I was wondering if you all have any tips to getting the tranny back in position. we have to people under the car holding the tranny and one person working on the jack.
We tried it for 4 hours last night and didn't have any luck, so we are going to try it again today. Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks,
