Mechanical gauges...
going back to the old days of building and running small block Chevy's, I was never a fan of electric gauges. I have an el' cheapo Sunpro boost only gauge mounted on the column. I plan to replace with it with a set of Auto-Meter's. I'm not sure which ones yet but I want mechanical. Probably Ultra-Lite Pro Comps if I do 52mm, Silver liquid filled Pro Comp if I go 60mm..
Boost/vac should be able to use the what the current gauge is hooked up to.. just a simple gauge swap.
Next would be oil pressure, I came across an adapter on another website. I think it was 3/8bspt -1/8" npt, then I can run steel braid line to the gauge.. no problem there..
Water temp.. this one I am lost with and have no clue where to tap the block or what adapters I will need... Anyone ?
Then a volt gauge to monitor the electrical system..
Thats about all I need for now, My engine is kind of stock so I'm not worried about installing an A/F ratio gauge yet. I just like to know the facts about how the engine is operating. Any suggestions, please feel free...
