Apexi S-AFC II + mods

Anyone out there wanna share your settings for the S-AFC II and the mods you have on it... Please post a dyno reading if you have one showing HP/AFR and FtLb/AFR if u have one...

Reason i'm asking is i wanna see what different tuners set for different mods and how they vary....

Your participation is much appreciated...

Turboholic,

Seems like your tuning is mapped for high end power....

This is mine; self-tuned for mid - top end; Octane here is 97 ron ; intake temp 41c; AT (Atmospheric temp) 32c;

2800 0%
3200 -3% AFR- 12.6
3600 -4%
4000 -5%
4400 -5%
4800 -6%
5200 -7%
5600 -7%
6000 -8%
6400 -8%
6800 -7%
7200 -6% AFR - 11.4

I get about 256 whp @ 5500 but between 4000 - 7000 rpms my hp is between:

240hp @4000rpm
256hp @5500rpm
250hp @7000rpm

My chart is at home but i'll put it up tomorrow morning... my max torque is 290 FtlB at 4000rpm. I find that the car has tremendous pull at mid-upper range.

Higher corrections doesnt seem to do much.. my AFR is between 12.7 - 11.4 and boost at 1.28 bar

My relevant mods are: Turbosmart E-boost management system, Greddy FMIC (R-SPL-HG), Greddy Power Extreme II Catback, Stock DP, Stock CAT, Ralliart Drop in Airfilter, Ralliart Plug Cables, Apexi SAFC II.

One thing that i'm worried about though is that the knock sensor on the SAFC keeps showing random spikes of 200+ but average knock ranges from 0 - 60... does anyone who's qualified in this know whether this is safe?

Rgds,

David

SAFC-II Settings

Hi all,

Octane = 97 ron
Intake Temp = 55C
Atmo Temp = 25C
Dyno = Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer
Max WHP = 246.5whp@5200rpm
Max Torque = 280FtLb@4000rpm
Max Flywheel = 314.7Hp@5200rpm

SAFC-II Settings
==========

Karman, 4 cyl, arrow up, Lo TH Pt 30%, Hi TH Pt 60%;

2800 0%
3200 -3% AFR- 12.4
3600 -3%
4000 -4%
4400 -5%
4800 -6%
5200 -7%
5600 -8%
6000 -8%
6400 -8%
6800 -8%
7200 -7% AFR - 11.4

Like Angel of mercy, Higher corrections doesnt seem to do much.. my AFR is between 12.9 - 11.4 and

boost at

1.25 bar between 3000-4300rpm
1.15 bar between 4300-5200rpm
1.10 bar between 5200-7200rpm

This is the reason I think i'm not getting as much hp. I am getting a boost controller soon to keep it at a level pressure and do another run.

Max Knock count so far = 143

My mods are given below.

Would like to hear from others about their settings and preferably with a dyno chart showing their HP/torque/afr/boost.

Here's my Dyno Charts :-

Flywheel HP vs AFR

New adjustments to AFC

2800 0%
3200 -4% ( added -ve 1%) AFR- 12.6
3600 -4%
4000 -5%
4400 -5%
4800 -6%
5200 -7%
5600 -7%
6000 -8%
6400 -8%
6800 -7%
7200 -6% AFR - 11.4

This increment at 3200 RPM pushes up the torque and power curve to a stronger positive curve resulting in higher torque and power and a smoother ride from 3K to 6K RPM.... the result can be felt and it has been proven. Porcupine and I did a head to head acceleration test with before and after settings.. I'll do a Dyno when my downpipe and mid comes in with a before and after installation dyno to show the current settings and the new mod setting...

can u please post ur dyno chart umiami80 so we can see ur torque vs A/F ratio. It would great to analyse the difference. I know you can't publish BR settings because it's considered a paid value but it would great to see ur dyno chart.

Yup.. as long as we can see the AF ratio, we can easily see if there is more potential in the car that has yet to be tapped or if the limitations due to variables like temp and mods has been reached..

I will be getting RnR Racing's settings real soon. I will let you know the difference in power and EGT temps that I see. Right now with my current mods and AFC zeroed out I am running 800 to 820 degrees C on my EGT. Still have a little room to play with and still be safe. I can't wait to get to the East Coast so I can start using some better gas. All we have is 91 here as the highest option. I would like to run a mix of 100 unleaded and 93 to make around 95 octane.

As much as I would LOVE to post the BR settings, were were told not to as they are part of their property, but I will tell you that they end at -17%, and car SCREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to their website, look at the Dynos yourself. ASk Dave about the A/F's, they are conservative STILL, I will get an AWD dyno session and then post what I got.

I know the Buschur's settings are "commercial property" but I would love it if Dave from Bushur could enlighten us with the A/F reading at max throttle with those settings which ends at -17%. That would be great. I don't dare to lean it out more than 11.4 A/F.
