tranny doesn't like 3, 4, or 5

I don't know if I'm posting on the correct place so I apologize. This is my first post.

I drive a 2006 evo ix mr and lately I've been having problems shifting into third and fourth. First and second shift smoothly but it feels like there's something restraining it from going into third and it's even harder for fourth. If I get it into fifth, it eventually kicks out and goes back to neutral. There's also a grinding noise when I put it into sixth. There's also a rattling sound whenever the clutch isn't depressed leading me to believe the sound is possibly coming from the throw out bearing. I honestly have no idea what is wrong and I apologize again if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'm just desperate to find what's wrong. I really don't want to have to get rid of my dream car.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Please and thanks

Did this just start?

Did you just get the car?

Have you tried adjusting the clutch rod out some?

I've had the car since July last year but I'm the third owner. It just started maybe in the middle of February? I have an after market clutch on it and I haven't done anything to it as of yet. I've taken it to a transmission shop and they said that it would be around 1 grand to check out what was wrong so I posted it on here that way I don't spend all that money for some kind of small fix. At least I'm hoping that it's a small fix.
