In 1st pic gap looks way big to me. Have you verified the plug gap? An 8 is a relatively cold plug, FYI.

What NGK "8" plug is this exactly? Is the plug pictured an NGK BPR 8ES?

BPR9ES is way too cold for street use even on Meth IMO.

Gap them to .019 and if u are still on the stock ignition running E85 you need to look into upgrading to a COP Igniton System...The stock ignition becomes weak once you start adding good power adders in to the mix especially if u are running E85...i had the same problem...gapped my NGK Iridium IX's to .019 and the misfire stopped...once u start having to close the gap that small its telling you that your ignition system isn't providing enough amperage to provide a spark that can jump the gap under that amount of load and fuel consumption

how long were those plugs in the car? There should be carbon up two or three threads. Are you spraying anything?
I don't read plugs well, but the slightly yellow ground strap tip is or could be from additives in the gas. The fact that there is NO carbon on the threads worries me, maybe thats a deal with E85(?) If its not typical of e85 then I'd add more gas just to see if there is something fishy with your afr.
btw, if you are interested in plug reading , though its more for one offs and carbed cars read here

Yeah, it is running way too lean. There should be an ash color. It is running too lean.

You're not going to see carbon on any threads with those plugs, that part of the plug is not protruding into the combustion chamber. As far as signs of a lean condition I don't see it. Can you get a few picture of the plugs in focus instead of your fingers in focus? You really don't want to spend the $10 to get the plugs that are used by "all the fast guys"? http://www.dansmc.com/spark_plugs/sp...s_catalog.html
