Which map sensor to run on sd

Ok I'm switching to sd I was wondering which to run the omni 4 bar or 7 bar map sensor. I'm only looking to make 550 hp ony stock block if that helps. I'm also running a hta 3582r. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A 4 bar sensor will be able to read almost 60 psi so I would think that you would be just fine with the 4 bar. It doesn't have anything to do with how much power you are going to produce as some other posters have implied. Boost level is the key here.

How do you know he's going to blow his motor? I made 440tq on my evo ix stock block on e85 never had a problem. I did change the oil every 1400 miles and I also had ARP rod bolts to add a little safety. My car was abused every wednesday Saturday, and sunday night. I used to do all kinds of crazy things with it, including 4th gear 70mph rolls along with some pretty abusive brake boosting. I've seen evo's blow up with less than 400tq, too much whp/tq is not always the cause of a blown motor. I recommend changing & checking the oil frequently and letting it cool between runs and try not to abuse it when it's not needed .

It was simply a statement that most evo owners will say, keep tq below 400

The 4 bar can only read 3 bars of boost so its more like 43psi or 59psiA if that floats your boat. Remember that ambient pressure is also part of the 4 bar equation.

For reference a 7 bar sensor would read up to 87psi of boost pressure. The 4 bar should be fine for any application other than all out drag car. Its pretty unlikely someone will go over the 43psi limit with any turbo.
