Cams in a IX ?

I searched but can't seem to get a clear answer. Some say they don't do much if anything that the stock cams are fine. Some say they worked well. I know the 8's really woke up from cams but the 9's have MIVEC so they say there not needed? I have a set of kelford 272 that now I'm not sure if I should use. I'll still be on the stock turbo with full bolt-ons. I'm sure I will go to a larger turbo at some point but not right away. So my question is are cams really needed or do they help?

are they needed? no. do they help? yes
yea 8's benefit more from cams then 9's but you will still see decent gains on a 9 with some mild/agressive cams such as gsc s2 etc. If you plan on going bigger turbo sometime in the future then you might as well just do the cams now.
