Is anyone out there running a 5857 with kelford 272s? If so what's your spool like? I have this set up and before I go tearing apart my wastegate I want to make sure it's not just supposed to be this slow. I'm hitting full spool 25psi at around 5200 or 5500. Seems slow to me and everything is new no leaks. I'm thinking maybe this wg is not right. I have the 14 lb spring in it. And it is the only part that isn't new. Could it maybe be the cams? I thought this turbo spooled faster than that.

Ya the 5857 was not what it was talked up to be when it was first released. It spools a lot slower than a FP Red and the FP Red makes more power. I am also not a fan of Kelford cams but to each his own. Some people love kelford and some people hate kelford.

What boost controller are you running?

I have a hallman mbc. You think it would make less power than an fp red? My goal is 500 so it seemed like it would be a good turbo for this but I'm disappointed with the spool of it. It spools nearly the same as a gt35r which also makes more power. It's what I had on it before. Put it this way if someone secretly switched the 35r with this 5857 I'd never notice. Lol
