Hi Guys,
just wonder how much hp a oem plug cables and coils can handle???

Lastly is there any ways of checking faulty or near faulty coils and plug cables???

Well, if you've got more than 60 - 80K on the car I'd suggest replacing the wires. As for the coils, lose one and lose half the engine. I'd think you'd notice that.

You can use an ocilloscope to see a coil that is going bad, it will show up in the waveform. Use an ohm meter to check the plug wires or as barnyb said said if youve got mileage on them you should replace them. As far as power, I dont know exactly but they seem to at least be good up to 350 to 400 from what ive seen

I have my 65k Mile original coils and wires making 645hp. Plugs are gaped at 19 with no issues at all.

Thanks Guys for sharing, but what is the healthy Ohm reading for plug coils and cables?

Ohms can't tell you the whole story, look at a working waveform on a scope.
