im just interested if i put the forge motorsport BOV and a cold air intake. will i most likely get the bov sound i want? Im hoping to a hard release then the almost chirp sound... It would be nice to actually hear the turbo a bit just reving the car.. It sounds like a rice boy question i know but i really just want to know where those parts will put me.. Anyone possibly have a sound clip???

You WILL hear the blowoff valve, but I've never heard a "Chirp" except when it wasn't working right usually I've found chirping, skipping, or barking sounds are typical if there's slightly too much spring tension.. Its not quite as loud as a real VTA BOV, but you won't suffer the drivability issues that their prone to.

Personally I hate that loud sound.. It proves nothing except that you have a turbo on your car..

But hopefully this will help you determine what you want to do..

You will hear the BOV but it will NOT be the chirp....I have it...with a K&N Cone Filter....it's more of a whoosh sound.

 

Even the stock BOV attached to an open element intake will make a fairly loud Blow off sound.

 

It's loud enough to turn people around from walking down the street a full block away. Put it that way.

No chirp, but then again you aren't VTA'ing so that's how it's supposed to be. It's muffled by the intake piping.

 

I have the exact setup you are talking about.Typhoon with forge recirc. I dont see how you would want anything louder.

 

oo yeah cool i guess that clown in the SRT-4 had his bov waay out of adjustment then.... but anyway i got my intake on the way i imagine that will make me happy enough for now...

 

Yes you will be amazed at just how loud the stock d/v really is.

 

Sounds like you would like the HKS ssBOV. I just took it off and went back to stock. It's definitely an attention getter and has a loud whoosh/whistle/chirp sound to it. I had that along with the AEM intake and I swear the damn car sounded like the Batmobile! Turns heads all the time. Guess I'm just getting too old

 

I have a forge recirv BOV and it was loud with my buschur cone filter!!!

 

I installed my HKS racing suction intake last week. I was very surprised how loud the stock BOV is. Actually, I was surprised how loud everything was after the install. The turbo and BOV sounds awesome.
