Yea I got nothing, I'm only speaking from a platform of complete ignorance, but after I installed the two side mounts (passenger side and tranny) it seemed to balance/smooth out the slight rattle I had from just the front mount.

Deeman101 mentioned the torque dampener (Ingals/WeaponR) and they work well. I had one a while ago and remember putting it together with nylon washers to help eliminate the rattle it had.

Haha. Ok.

I remember seeing something on AMS's site about one in particular being described as a culprit for vibration, I'll do some more research and call some people if necessary. Thanks!

That would be the rear mount.

So the front and sides are usually ok to replace with solid/blox without increasing the vibration too much?

I'm on a bit of a quest to reduce NVH on my stiffened, loud Evo, so give it to me straight if you have personal experience. I've never owned an Evo with regular mounts, so I can't speak to the increase.

Like I said. I DD my car, and the torque solutions front mount was a great addition. 1st-2nd shift I usually felt like the whole motor/tranny was moving in the shifter.

I rarely see it now. They do break in, the first week or 2, the vibration was horrible. While coasting, I can hear rattles that were annoying with the windows down, radio off. Then I noticed the rattle disappeared.

Still a vibration at idle but it's not a biggie.

I don't have any personal experience with mounts other than stockers. I was speaking from what I read on this forum. Generally threads can be summarized as:

1. Front mount causes more vibrations than stock

2. Side mounts help reduce the vibration from the front mount only

3. Rear mount introduces crazy amount of vibration regardless of the rest of the mounts

What are: Oxymorons?

I'll take SWORDS for a thousand Alex!

All kidding aside, that is perfectly stated.

OP, I had to drive my car across the city tonight, 1.5hrs round trip, and my old mvIV Jetta felt like a ******* Cadillac. I'm over the solid motor mounts, and my car isn't even a daily driver. Just do yourself a favor and forget this idea.

Same here, after a year of all around solid MM's, I'm going back to stock everywhere except for the front mount.

Rear mount is the worse one for vibe, but even the side mounts arent so cool. The only one I do is the lower pitch mount unless its getting replaced with an AMS crossmember or some such. That being said, my car is on stock mounts and has zero issues with engine roll or shifting issues.

Another vote here for just the Blox front mount.

There was a bit of dash vibes for the first few weeks but the increase in throttle response and clutch feel is way worth it. Plus it did mellow out and the only time I notice any more vibrations now is at idle when the AC is on.
