Boost Leak Question/ Car Problems
Boost Leak Question/ Car Problems
Long Read.
Lately my car has been running poorly but I have always had injector problems since I was tuned.
Story:
Brand new RC 1000s were installed, car switched to mbc and tuned. Next day I received a cyl 3 fuel code. Changed the bottom o-rings. Later down the line gas mileage went to crap again with no new mods. Someone looked at my car & said the fuel trims were bad, he changed them (just a quick plug in and change, no full tune). then again a code, he looks at it & says the ecu reset it back to how it was before he changed it. code was p0170. he said i have a faulty injector probably. changed the injectors around and it wasnt the injector.
then recently installed invidia o2 and a different o2 sensor was put in as mine was done. since then ive had the p0170 come up all the time again, barely getting 200 miles to the tank, the top and bottom o-rings have broke multiple times. changed out the bottom o-rings this weekend and getting tuned in 2 weeks.
I want to have my car problem free for my tuner and I'm switching from mbc to 3port but i have noticed my psi on the mbc varies. now instead of being at 1.5bar its boosting a 2 notches down. but in 5th it goes to 1.5 on full throttle. and the boost decreases from what it initially boosts at then starts falling.
I haven't ran a boost leak check just yet but I've noticed that my intake looks like its starting to come off the turbo, I mentioned it to my friend and he said that wont do anything. Its still on the turbo but looks like its about to come off since there is a gap between the clamp and the turbo lip.
Anyone have any input on the problems the car is having?
I've looked up the code and alot of the threads say its the injectors, or the front o2 sensor, as far as the boost leak I am unsure of the problem as I have never performed a leak test.

As far as the bad gas mileage, I would check the o2 sensor like you said. But if you've never done a boost leak test, especially since you're getting ready to get your car tuned, definitely do one before you go. It's really simple.
