Can i higher boost after a thicker H/Gasket?

Hi Guys,
just wonder can i higher boost when place a thicker h/gasket?

Im replacing my oem h/g to a cometic 0.51" x 86mm h/g.

But bore size is 85.5mm

Any problem for this matching?

The reason i changed my oem h/g is due to oil leak.

Are you on stock or aftermarket head studs?

assuming you already have a built motor. boost would typically be dependent on the fuel used. with the hg i would suggest sticking with oem.

OEM gasket, why would you use a cometic? The block will need to be pulled and honed to a mirror along with the head to get a good seal. The OEM gasket is good for 800+whp.

I see what you are saying, your thicker head gasket would give you a lower compression ratio. Boost levels are dependent on so many factors though.

I agree with the others. STOP any installs and get an OEM head gasket. I don't mean to scold you, but you need to do more research before you buy anything. We need to spend our $ wisely.

Yup stock hg is good up to .020 over, and my choice over the others. I see what youre saying, and theoretically yes you could run more boost, but thats not a reason to not get the stocker. And the block doesn't neseccicarily have to be pulled and decked every time because its not aluminum and doesn't warp as easy as heads do. I'd of course check it but I havnt had to re deck a block on a 4g yet, but heads yes.
